Brown Fused Alumina belongs to the group of electro-corundum. It is also be called brown aluminum oxide, synthetic corundum, brown fused corundum or brown fused aluminum oxide. It is produced by the smelting of calcined bauxite, iron and coal in an electric arc furnace at temperatures more than 2000°C. It’s toughness, fireproof, sharpness, wear resistance, high abrasiveness makes brown fused alumina widely used in abrasives and refractory industry. Fused alumina has high refractoriness, low coefficients of thermal expansion low thermal expansion coefficient, good thermal stability, strong air permeability, high intensity for coasting. Brown Fused Alumina Refractory grade material can be divided into stable furnace(fix furnace) and tilting furnace. The biggest difference of stable furnace brown fused alumina refractory material and tilting furnace brown fused alumina is the chemical index of Sio2. Tilting Furnace brown fused alumina has higher Aluminium Oxide(Al2O3) content and strength, lower impurities. Tilting Furnace brown fused alumina can be identified by content of Silicon Oxide(SiO2), with 1%max SiO2, while Fixed Furnace usually with 1.5%max.
