Introduction Of Main Synthetic Abrasive Materials

1. Brown Fused Alumina

Brown Fused Alumina main component is Al2O3, with little content of SiO2, TiO2 Fe2O3 and CaO. Characteristic with medium hardness, great toughness and good grinding ability, brown aluminum oxide is widely used in grinding wheels, sandblasting, polishing and refractory materials.

2. White Fused Alumina is made by calcined alumina. 

White aluminum oxide has more that 99% of Al2O3 and a small content of ferric oxide, silicon oxide. Its hardness is slightly higher than that of brown fused alumina, but the toughness is not good as brown fused alumina. White Fused Alumina has good self-sharpening, lower calorific value, good grinding ability and high efficiency. It is also a good abrasive material for abrasive and refractory materials.

3. Black Fused Alumina

Black fused alumina grain is derived varieties of brown fused alumina. Its alumina content is range from 70%-85%, Fe2o3 content is about 10%. Black fused alumina is characteristic with medium hardness, high toughness and high heat-resistance. It is mostly used in free polishing and grinding, making resin bonded grinding wheels and abrasive discs.

4. Green Silicon Carbide

Green Silicon Carbide has more that 99% of Sic. Characteristic with good self-sharpening, green silicon carbide is mostly used for processing hard alloy, titanium alloy and optical glass, also used for honing cylinder jacket and fine grinding HSS cutting tools.

5. Black Silicon Carbide

Black Silicon Carbide contains about 98.5% Sic. Besides, the common usage in coated abrasives, bonded abrasives and refractory materials. It is mostly used for processing low tensile strength material, such as glass, ceramics, stone, cast iron and nonferrous metal, etc.
